The Most Expensive Nail Polish In The World!

No, I'm not talking about Chanel.  I'm talking about a new polish from Azature...yeah, I didn't know who they were either.

I'm not one to usually post Press Releases, but I couldn't resist sharing this one that just landed in my inbox.

So how much is the most expensive nail polish in the world & what makes it so?  Read on...

July 2012, New York City – To the one-percenters, listen up because AZATURE is shaking up the fine-jewelry world with the launch of AZATURE Nail Polish. Toted as the most expensive nail polish in the world, AZATURE Nail Polish is the latest offering from the black diamond king.  This celebrity and royalty designer is bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase “dripping in diamonds” by introducing this ultra-luxe product to the beauty market.

Retailing for $250,000, the exclusive AZATURE Nail Polish contains 267 carats of black diamonds, assuring that the woman who wears it really is the chicest of them all.  Limited to just one bottle, it also makes it a one-of-a-kind, limited edition item from the world of AZATURE.

For those that can’t afford the $250,000 price tag, Azature created polish that will contain a real black diamond and retail for $25.  Packaged in a .5 oz / 15 mL diamond shaped bottle, the nail polish is offered in AZATURE signature black and coats on with a glittery sheen that resembles the sparkle of an AZATURE diamond.

“The black diamond is the ultimate fine jewel. Its combination of beauty, mystery, and sophistication makes it a timeless luxury. One day I thought, ‘why not showcase this style on nails?’ So I developed a Black Diamond Nail Polish with the same attention and quality as my jewelry, in order to preserve the elegance of the black diamond. I am thrilled to offer this new twist on fine-jewelry!”

The lower-priced nail polish will be available to consumers at Fred Segal beginning August 2012.

There you have it.  A cool 1/4 mil for a bottle of polish.  Makes that bottle of Chanel or Clarins 230 seem like pocket change.

Cult Nails: Untamed & Big Ruby Nail Tattoos

I have one of my favorites from the upcoming Cult Nails Untamed collection that was created by Maria's, soon to be 13 year old daughter, Coco. (whew that's a mouth full!)

I never would have guessed that a bubble gum pink with multi color shimmer would EVER be a favorite of mine, but Cult Nails polishes seem to have that affect on me. Their Devious Nature (a pink with berry undertones has quickly become one of my go to colors and was a gateway for me to horde, I mean, try all sorts of other pinks).

Untamed (both the name of this polish AND the entire collection of 5 polishes) is a squishy jelly. That means it's sheer and will take more coats to build up to full coverage. Here I used 4.

I topped it off with one of the new Big Ruby nail tattoos from their "Her's" pack. (Speaking of gateways, Big Ruby tattoos were my gateway into stamping!)

The Cult Nails Untamed collection is available on July 11th (Coco's Birthday!) I'll have swatches of the other colors soon...I'm out of remover!!! A HUGE faux pas!!!

4th of July Mani featuring Julep America and Cult Nails Nevermore

This is a test - this is only a test....unless it actually works! I'm testing out the Blogger app for iPhone for the first time so let's see how this goes.

I wanted something easy but flashy for my 4th mani and this combo fit the bill perfectly!

The base color is none other than Cult Nails Nevermore. The perfect one coat, super shiny black (and it also happens to be a polish that I named!)

It's topped with Julep America. A surprisingly dense glitter - loaded with fine red, small silver hex and 2 sizes of blue hex glitters - peppered with silver stars. Out of my entire mani, I was only able to get 2 stars on my tips but I was ok with that because the points were a little raised. I hope Julep comes out with more multi sized, dense glitters like this. America is so far my favorite Julep polish to date - and it was FREE in this month's Julep Maven box. You can't beat that!!

I absolutely love how this turned out. It's dramatic and super easy to do (each polish was only one coat).

**UPDATE**

Ok, so the test went well - I'm typing this now from my computer.  I jumped on to see how it turned out.  Not too bad.  Formatting options are limited at best.  The photo was added fine, but there was no option to add a caption, to select a size or for placement within the post. All in all, it's great for a quick post on the go - but if you like to manipulate your post a bit, you might feel limited using the Blogger app for iPhone.

Pinterest: Miss-Pins

If you're like me, you're obsessed with Pinterest.  While scrolling endlessly though pins (usually recipes that I'd like to try) I often come across someone who's pinned something to the wrong board. I've done it tons of times.  You click 'repin' and swiftly click 'save' without realizing that your newest pin went into the board that your last pin was pinned to.  Sometimes it works out, especially when you've been pinning recipes for the last 30 mins - but once you change to another category and still stay click happy - that's when a Miss-Pin happens.  And that's what I LOVE to see because sometimes they're hilarious!

I come across them so often that I decided to make a pinboard dedicated to them - snarky comments included.

Here's a diagram of a classic Miss-Pin:

See the cute widdle puppy - see that she pinned him to 'FOOD IDEAS'

Here are a few more examples - comments included ;)

Wonder if she likes hers toasted with a schmear?

For making grilled cheese sticks or single strips of bacon

perfect for tea-bagging

If you like these, check out the rest of the board HERE - more will be added & if you find a miss-pin, I'd love to see it!  Send them to me at OnceBittenBlog@gmail.com

Watermelon Nail Art

Ah the things that transpire when I'm bored, hungry and happy that Summer has arrived :)

I used a base of Essie: Pretty Edgy (green), then added a coat of Manglaze: Mayo (white), careful to leave a nice ribbon of green showing.  I then added 2 coats of China Glaze: Fuchsia Fanatic on top, again being very careful to only let a little bit of the white show.  I topped it all off with a few dabs of Nubar: Black Polka Dot for the seeds and finally a coat of Cult Nails: Wicked Fast top coat.   I did the stripes on my thumb with Zoya: Envy using the pointy end of an orange stick.

Presto! Festive, juicy, sliced, ripe watermelon!  Happy Memorial Day :D
